Shweta Choudhury Represents Odisha On Facebook’s ‘Fuel For India’ Conference

Fashion Blogger Shweta Choudhury represented Odisha on Facebook’s ‘Fuel For India’ conference held on 15th and 16th of December. The conference aimed at showcasing some of the most powerful stories of change in India and to highlight the role of Facebook in fueling these journeys through their products and services. Shweta became one amongst the handpicked digital creators of Instagram who portrayed their journeys.

The conference was attended by top executives from Facebook such as Mark Zuckerberg, Sheryl Shandberg and Adam Mosseiri, along with influential business tycoons like Mukesh Ambani and Asim Warsi.

“When I started blogging, I had this dream to come this far but never thought it would happen so soon. Through my work I have always given efforts to highlight my state Odisha and Odia culture. We are in 2020 and the digital medium is the most powerful asset through which we can spread our word and vision. I am thankful to the entire board for this privilege and for inspiring me to work more,” said Shweta to My City Links.

In her 4 minutes video, Shweta is seen representing Odisha by speaking in Odia. Her video is titled ‘Small Towns Big Dreams’, where she narrates about her journey as a creator. Her blog showcases her recreations on pop culture, be it television shows, movies, cartoons or anime. She has indeed transformed blogging into a trend in Odisha and calls herself ‘your friendly neighborhood blogger’.

The conference featured other bloggers like Amulya Rattan, Aakash Malhotra, Kerala Foodie (handle’s name), and Dr. Richa Negi.

Earlier this year, Shweta enjoyed an appearance on national TV during this year’s installment of IPL, when Instagram broadcasted her “What if IPL Clubs Were People” reel on Star Sports. She has worked with Yash Raj Films for their DDLJ anniversary campaign and also partnered with TVF for their Viral Stars campaign. Shweta has been a part of collaboration efforts with almost 100 brands including MAC, Harley Davidson, Marks and Spencer over the years.

She believes that being an influencer brings great responsibility. She recently organized a massive closet sale to raise funds for charity. She had previously raised Rs 40,000 for an orphanage too. Currently, Shweta is working with Odisha Tourism for an Eco Retreat project. She envisions to globalise Odisha’s pride on every domain.
