SCI To Setup Center Of Excellence At IHM Bhubaneswar

Vegetarian food has always been considered healthy over non-vegetarian options. Doctors and other healthcare professionals today increasingly advise people to choose vegetarian food over meat. The Sattvik Council of India’s first center of excellence will come up in the Institute of Hotel Management (IHM), Bhubaneswar. Sattvik Council of India (SCI) and IHM signed an MoU in this regard in presence of Abhishek Biswas, Founder, SCI; Satyanarayan Mohapatra, State Coordinator, Odisha-SCI and Sharada Gosh, Principal, IHM, Bhubaneswar on Wednesday.

With the opening of Sattvik Center of Excellence, the students can pursue courses on Vegetarian Tourism & Catering Management, Sattvik Auditor & Lead Auditor, as per the agreement. A series of seminars was also organized on “Sattva’ The Ultimate Pure: Applications of Sattvik Certifications”.

Speaking on the occasion, Biswas said, “SCI has always visioned about transforming certification into education and  training. As we open our gates to Sattvik Center of Excellence with IHM, Bhubaneshwar, the student community can not only pursue courses in specialized vegetarian programmes in hospitality or management through IHM, but also secure a good job in the same. There is constant endeavor to improve academic administration and curriculum upgradation through involvement of subject-matter specialists from both bodies.”

“This was an important step that was needed as vegetarians have to take a step back from the bigger businesses in the world, and it is a drawback. Even though I respect all food choices, we cannot disregard courses in vegetarian management or auditor. We are facing huge unemployment after the pandemic. Now the students will be able to earn a dispensable income after the completion of the course,” Satyanarayan Mohapatra said.

SCI is a non-profit organization and the world’s first vegetarian food and lifestyle standard development organization established with an objective to promote the certification of vegetarian food. This is an indigenous certification that has been developed and designed in India with an aim to regulate vegetarian food and lifestyle. The certification fetches its inspiration from Vedas and Puranas.
