Sci-fi Becomes A Reality In City’s Robot Restaurant

Wait, that’s not a waiter. That’s a robot. Yes, foodies have woken up to an exciting experience of robots serving food at a new restaurant in Bhubaneswar.

Aptly named Robochef, this is East India’s first robot-themed restaurant. And it’s unique among other similar restaurants in the country because the robots functioning as waiters—Champa and Chameli—are made in India. Adding to the delight, the robots greet guests with the customary “Apana mane Khushi ta?” while serving them their food.

With days passing by, Bhubaneswar is developing rapidly and it never fails to surprise us!

But when you step outside the Odisha capital, there are only three other places in India where you can savor the experience of robots serving you piping hot delicacies. They are:

Chennai

This city boasts of the first robot-themed restaurant in India. It is a must-go-to place during a visit to the southern metropolis to enjoy something new and thrilling. Previously named Momo, it is now known as Robot. Here the orders are taken on iPhones located on each table and these are relayed directly to the kitchen. According to the founders of the restaurant, it is no longer only about food, but experience matters too.

Bengaluru

The Chennai group of robot-themed restaurant has extended its franchise to Bengaluru now. This robot restaurant offers its customers Indo-Asian cuisine and a menu of chilling mocktails. At this restaurant, the food is served by robots. With Bengaluru dubbed as the Silicon Valley of India, it’s no wonder that the city has a restaurant that works on artificial intelligence. Tech nerds and foodies are not complaining, though!

Kannur

Kerala’s first robot-theme restaurant is known as BE@ KIWOSO. There are three robot waiters named Aleena, Helen and Jane to serve food to customers. The fun part is while carrying food to a table, the robots would politely request someone to step aside if they happen to be blocking their path. The robots even dance for the kids and help toddlers to walk by holding their hands. If not for the food, you should definitely visit the restaurant to meet the unique ‘waiters’.
