PM Modi Slams Pakistan, Says Time to Raze Terror Havens Post Pahalgam Attack
PM Modi, addressing the nation after the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 25 tourists and a local, vowed a fierce response against terrorism. Speaking from Madhubani, Bihar, he paid tribute to the victims and declared that India will identify, track, and punish the attackers and their backers, promising justice for the lives lost.
PM Modi called the attack “an assault on India’s soul,” noting the diversity of the victims—from Odia to Gujarati, Bengali to Bihari—emphasizing that the entire nation is grieving and outraged. He said the time has come to “raze whatever is left of the terror haven,” sending a pointed message to Pakistan, which India accuses of supporting terrorism on its soil.
Switching to English, the Prime Minister addressed the global community: “India will pursue every terrorist and their backers to the ends of the earth. Our spirit will never be broken. Terrorism will not go unpunished.”
Following the attack, Modi cut short his Saudi Arabia trip and chaired a Cabinet Committee on Security meeting. As part of India’s strong diplomatic retaliation, several measures were announced, including halting the Indus Water Treaty implementation, shutting down the Attari Integrated Check Post, restricting Pakistani nationals from traveling under SAARC Visa Exemption, and reducing Pakistan’s diplomatic presence in India.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh echoed the sentiment, stating that India follows a zero-tolerance policy on terrorism and that both the perpetrators and their supporters will face a strong, clear response.
