OTDC Unveils ‘Simple Bistro’ On Mahanadi

The Odisha Tourism Development Corporation (OTDC) has been trying to boost tourism in Odisha through innovative initiatives like the ‘‘Simple Bistro’, another floating restaurant on the Mahanadi river in Cuttack. It was inaugurated on Sunday. It is an initiative by OTDC and a private firm which will be operated at the Silver City Boat Club in Cuttack. It will have a seating capacity of 30 people.

The price of a single table at the floating restaurant costs Rs 1200 per hour and booking the entire restaurant for 2 hours would cost Rs 10,000. It would cost Rs 20,000 to book the restaurant entirely for the morning hours (10.30 AM to 3.30 PM) or evening hours (4.30 PM to 9.30 PM). The entire restaurant would cost Rs 37,000 for the whole day (10.30 AM to 9.30 PM). This apart, an 18 per cent GST will be applicable on the charges.

People can now savour the view of the Mahanadi from a vantage point while enjoying their favourite dishes. At night, the floating restaurants will be decked up with colourful LED lights while suitable music will be on play to further heighten the ambiance. It is to be noted here that the first floating restaurant ‘Silver City Boat Club’ in Cuttack was inaugurated by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik through virtual mode in April 2021.
