Odisha Women’s Football League To Kick Off From February 28

The Odisha Women’s League has been scheduled to start from 28^th February 2021. 6 (six) teams will be participating in this League and all the matches will be played on a double header league basis. There will be a total of 30 matches.

The teams participating in this league are Sports Hostel, SAI-STC, OGP CLUB, Rising Student Club, East Coast Railway & Odisha Police. 

The Champion Team of this League will qualify to participate in the ensuing IWL to be conducted by All India Football Federation. The Rising Student Club of State has been the Champion (2017-18) & Runners Up (2016-17) of the IWL. Also, the Odisha Police team has represented the state at IWL earlier. The Odisha League is going to commence from 28^th February 2021 and will conclude on 27^th March 2021. All the matches will be played at Bhubaneswar (Kalinga Stadium practice ground and Capital High School Ground).

This event is being jointly organized by the Football Association of Odisha and the Sports and Youth Service Department of Odisha. In the recent past, the Sports and Youth Service Department of Odisha has undertaken a lot of initiatives for the development of sports & games in the state. It is expected that this endeavour by the government will be a game changer for the development of Football in Odisha especially for Women’s Football.
