Odisha Government Orders 12 Pakistani Nationals to Leave by April 27

Following Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s directive to identify Pakistani nationals across states, the Odisha government has asked 12 Pakistani citizens living on long-term visas to leave India by April 27.

According to a senior officer at the State Police Headquarters in Cuttack, these individuals had registered with various police stations across Odisha. No Pakistani nationals on short-term or medical visas are currently residing in the state. However, medical visas will remain valid for two more days after April 27.

Due to security reasons, officials have not disclosed details like the gender or exact locations of these Pakistani nationals. Sources mentioned that some of them reside in Khurda and Cuttack districts.

Under Indian law, Pakistani nationals with visas longer than six months must register with the Foreigners Registration Officer (FRO) or Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) within 14 days of arrival. In places without an FRRO or FRO, the local Superintendent of Police (SP) handles registration.

Meanwhile, Odisha Police has stepped up security measures across sensitive areas like Sambalpur, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Cuttack, and Bhubaneswar. Patrols and intelligence gathering have been intensified to prevent any law and order issues following the recent Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir that killed 26 people.
