Odisha Deputy CM Announces Third Phase of Subhadra Yojana Funds by November End

Odisha Deputy CM Pravati Parida announced today that the third phase of the Subhadra Yojana's first installment will be distributed by the end of November. Approximately 20 lakh beneficiaries who missed the previous two phases will each receive ₹5,000 in their bank accounts.

The government has decided to extend the benefits of the Subhadra scheme to anganwadi workers listed in the government employee database. Previously, government employees were not eligible for this scheme.

According to sources, thousands of applications have been rejected due to criteria such as land area, family ownership of a four-wheeler, and having a family member who is a government employee. Families with more than five acres of irrigated land or ten acres of non-irrigated land, as well as those with a four-wheeler, cannot benefit from the scheme. However, owners of tractors, mini-trucks, small commercial vehicles, and similar light goods vehicles are being considered for eligibility.

The Deputy CM shared that efforts are underway to re-evaluate and include previously ineligible applicants, potentially allowing them to receive benefits in this phase. Out of 2.67 lakh rejected applications, those eligible under revised guidelines may soon be enrolled.

Additionally, the fourth phase of disbursements is scheduled for December, with an aim to reach over 1 crore women beneficiaries by year-end. Deputy CM Parida affirmed that every applicant will be included, with registration ongoing to ensure all eligible women receive their benefits.

So far, 60 lakh beneficiaries have received funds in the first two phases: 25 lakh on September 17 & 39 lakh on October 9.
