Odisha CM Majhi Doubles Police Uniform Allowance, Boosts Duty Incentives
Odisha CM Majhi has approved a proposal to double the uniform allowances and increase duty incentives for police personnel to improve efficiency and morale. Inspectors will now receive ₹8,600 annually (up from ₹4,300), while sub-inspectors and assistant sub-inspectors will get ₹8,400 (up from ₹4,200). Havildars, constables, and sepoys will receive ₹10,000 (up from ₹5,000), and Special Striking Force personnel will get ₹11,800 (up from ₹5,900).
Additionally, the extra duty incentive has been raised to ₹25,000 for constables and sepoys, and ₹30,000 for havildars. CM Majhi urged the police force to enhance law and order, act swiftly on FIRs, ensure the safety of the vulnerable, and uphold public trust. He also announced the creation of 16,059 new police posts alongside filling the existing 16,000 vacancies.
Majhi emphasized adopting best practices from other states to make Odisha a model of peace and discipline. DGP YB Khurania thanked the CM for the proactive steps to strengthen the police force.
