Odia Student’s Road Safety Video Earns Praise

‘Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world,’ said Nelson
Mandela once and it holds true to a T. This has been proven by the students of Odisha Adarsha
Vidyalaya at Notar in Nayagarh district. They have once again grabbed the headlines for a valid
reason that is worth taking a note.

The young students of the school have garnered many accolades in the past for creating
awareness videos on various social issues. This time they have set the internet on fire with their
latest creation which is a short musical video clip on traffic awareness.

The video clip is so enthralling and energetic while sending across the right message that it
earned praise from Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Union Minister for Road Transport &
Highways Nitin Gadkari. Both Patnaik and Gadkari took to their twitter accounts to post the
video and appreciated the creativity of the students.

The CM congratulated the students for winning the first prize in an online idea competition
during Road Safety Week 2020 He appreciated the efforts of the students in spreading traffic
awareness to protect precious lives.

Gadkari, who is unaware of the students who created the content, praised their efforts in
communicating the principles of road safety. In a tweet, appealed to all to go through the video.

The video has secured first position in an online idea competition 2020. The joy of students and
teachers knew no bound after their hard labour to create awareness among commuters yielded
fruits.

“We didn’t aim to earn a prize through the video, but our solo motto was to create traffic
awareness. We had secured a state level prize last year with a similar project. But, this year we
could not prepare the project early due to Covid-19 pandemic. Anyway, our project has bagged
commendation from the Chief Minister and the Union Minister, which gives us immense
pleasure,” said Ipsita Mohapatra, a participant of the awareness video.

The video was also shared by State Transport Authority via a tweet.
