Odia Girl, Arundhati, Dazzles on Dance Deewane

Odia Girl, Arundhati, Dazzles on Dance Deewane

Bhubaneswar girl, Arundhati Garnaik, swept everybody’s feet away with her exhilarating performance in the second episode of Dance Deewane Season 3. The three celebrity judges, Madhuri Dixit, Dharmesh Yelande and Tushar Kalia were dazzled by her marvellous performance.

Madhuri couldn’t contain herself and applauded her dance with a thundering whistle and complimented, “Aapke rom rom mein dance hai (you have dance in your genes).” She was praised by all the judges for her contemporary dance moves and has indeed set the bar high for all the performers this season.

She had also participated in Dance India Dance Season 4 but had to discontinue mid-season due to a spinal injury she had received during one of her rehearsals. She had made it to the Top 6 before the injury put a halt on her DID journey.

Arundhati learnt contemporary dance by watching YouTube videos and from Mandakini Jena of DID fame. The flexibility in Arundhati’s body helped her master the nuances of the dance form. Her parents encouraged her throughout to pursue her passion. Though she participated in ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ she did not qualify. She caught the fancy of Terrance Lewis, ace choreographer, who inducted her into his dance company. She performed with his company for 3 years.

She was also the lead dancer of the performance by Terence Lewis Contemporary Dance Company at Khelo India University Games in Cuttack in 2020. Her desire to return back on stage was fulfilled when Dance Deewane happened.

Here’s wishing our Odia girl all the luck for the mega audition and her journey in the dance show aired on Colors!
