Odia Filmmakers Felicitated With National Film Awards

Three Odia films were adjudged the National Film Awards 2019, announced on 22nd March, 2021 and were felicitated with the awards today. The three films are ‘Kalira Atita’, ‘Salabudhara Badla’ and ‘Shrikshetra-Ru-Sahijata’. 

‘Sala Budhara Badla’, directed by Dr. Sabyasachi Mohapatra, produced by New Generation Films and ‘Kalira Atita’, directed by Nila Madhab Panda, produced by Eleeanora Images Pvt. Ltd. were announced joint winners (shared) of the 67th National Film Awards for the year 2019 in the ‘Best Odia Film’ category. Both the films won Rajat Kamal medals and cash reward of Rs. 1 lakh.

Also, another Odia film titled ‘Shrikshetra Ru Sahijata’, produced and directed by Ashutosh Pattnaik was announced winner of the ‘Best Arts and Culture Film’ in the Non-Feature Films. The film received a Rajat Kamal medal and cash prize of Rs. 50,000.

Conveying his happiness over the success of the three films, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had earlier tweeted that it is a matter of glory. He also congratulated makers of the three films following the announcement.
