Odia Boy And His Partner Set Social App Scene on Fire With ‘Chingari’

Chingari, a social app developed by two young programmers,  Biswatma Nayak and Siddharth Gautam, seems to have set the competitive social media space on fire, literally! Released on November 29, 2019, the app has garnered more than 100,000 downloads so far. Considering the way the user numbers are rising, the app looks all set to give tough competition to TikTok, the global behemoth of the social app scene and many other video entertainment apps.

Though both its founders are based out of Bengaluru, Biswatma hails from Cuttack. He completed his engineering degree from ITER and is currently a programmer at a Tech firm in Bengaluru. Chingari was developed as a pet project by Biswatma and Siddharth who were exploring their love for developing applications.

The app allows you to share audio-visual content on the platform. It has received thumbs up from hundreds and thousands of people. This homegrown app is the hottest new craze in the digital space at present.

Through the app, one can upload and download videos, chat and interact with people, share content and browse through feed, among many other things. The app allows its users to develop creative content and information which can be shared on other social media platforms like Instagram stories and posts, WhatsApp status, Facebook posts and tweets.

Apart from creating audio-visual content, one can create fun GIFs, stickers, memes and pictures. The app is available for download on the Google Play Store in multiple languages which include English, Hindi, Bangla, Gujarati, Marathi, Kannada, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam.

The monetisation of social media is drawing masses to social apps like never before. While TikTok pays content creators based on how viral a video becomes, Chingari pays a creator through points for every video she or he uploads, which can be redeemed for money. This is a new take on the financial aspects of social apps.

TikTok has a caveat which one needs to fulfil to make money but Chingari ups the game by paying creators for the content while also giving them fame.
