Odia Actress Jasmine Rath Ventures Into Telugu TV Industry

After successfully winning audience’s hearts with trending Odia TV shows like ‘Maya’, ‘Sargam’ and ‘Maa Jahara Saha’, the young and talented Odia actress Jasmine Rath is venturing into the Telugu TV industry. With the Telugu soap ‘Krishnamma Kalipindi Iddarini’ on Star Maa channel, the actress has been casted opposite popular Kannada actor Vijay Surya, who has recently completed 10 years in the Kannada industry.

The promo of the show has been released on the official YouTube channel of Star Maa. Jasmine is seen playing her character with ease in this promo with Vijay.

A love story set against the backdrop of the Krishna River, Vijay is playing a blind man and Jasmine is playing the character of a girl who is a Kalankari saree maker. Jasmine started shooting for the serial from the month of February and is still continuing shooting for it in Hyderabad. She said, “I got a call from the production team where I got to know that I have been selected for this character. I wanted to do it, but I was worried about adapting to the language. Thankfully the whole cast and crew is very supportive and I also have a Telugu teacher, Sashank Kolluri who is constantly guiding me. I am able to do it.”

“The work schedule here is 9am to 9pm, and I get the first and third week of the month off. That’s when I resume my studies. Overall I am enjoying my work here and I hope the audience will enjoy the show too,” Jasmine added.

The show has been scheduled to air from next month. Directed by Vijay Krishna this love and drama soap will be also available on Disney+ Hotstar.

“The main difference in work at the TV industry in Odisha and here is that we do sync sound in Odisha during shooting serials but here it is being dubbed,” said Jasmine about the difference between the Odia and Telugu TV industry. On being asked if she is working on any Odia projects she said, “I am doing a show here. I can’t do other serials in Odisha for now. I can only give time to music videos or films there. I will try to give my best here and make a mark in this industry. I wish all my well-wishers and fans from Odisha will bless me for my journey ahead.” The actress signed off.
