As the name suggests, the English documentary focuses on Kotpad handloom, a unique tribal textile from Koraput district. It is the first ever documentary aiming to create awareness about the beautiful handloom. Produced by PSBT (Public Service Broadcasting Trust), this English documentary is a tribute to the rich textile tradition practiced by the Mirgan Community of Kotpad since time immemorial. This 30-minute duration film was first telecast on DD National on March 24, 2018.

Talking about the premiere on MX Player, writer-director Biswanath said, ‘’we are thrilled about this launch. MX Player is an International brand having over 280 million users. We feel honoured to have our award-winning documentary ‘Kotpad Weaving’ as well as 3 other award-winning short films ‘Desh Dosti Etc’, ‘Ravaiyaa’ and ‘Kar Bhalaa’ on this platform. Film Festivals/Awards provide recognition to our films, but leading OTTs like MX Player provide the much-needed global reach to our content. On behalf of BnR Films, I dedicate this achievement to the extraordinary efforts of our financiers, cast & crew, because of whom these films have achieved so much in the past few years.”

“We are sure that this premiere of ‘Kotpad Weaving’ on MX Player will create a new identity for Odisha and also inspire other filmmakers from the State to believe in their stories as well as in themselves,” he said.
