Healthy Breakfast Ideas For Chilly Winter Mornings

Breakfast is the first and most important meal of the day and you should not make it boring or usual just for the sake of eating. With a little effort breakfast can be made easy, fun and nutritious. Remember, in winters, do not forget to eat your greens as much as you can. So here are some ideas that you can pick up to fill your plate with happiness and your stomach satisfied to begin your day. 

Stir Fried Vegetables And Boiled Eggs

Stir fry chopped cabbage, spring onions, capsicums, carrots and broccoli, add some green chillies and black pepper to it. Pair the dish with boiled eggs.

Cauliflower Rice

This one can be eaten for any meal of the day. Grate some cauliflower pieces and saute it with some vegetables like onions, cabbage, spring onions and bell peppers. You may add small boneless chicken, cottage cheese, mushrooms according to your choice and preference.

Beans Salad

Rajma beans, black eyed beans, soybeans and what not! Beans are highly enriched with proteins and they boost energy. Soak the beans overnight or for 2-3 hours in lukewarm water and boil them. Give it a desi taste by adding amchur powder, green chillies, some lettuce, black pepper, oregano and chilli flakes. Always prefer curd in place of mayonnaise for seasoning.

Methi Pudina Paratha

Fresh methi and mint leaves are evergreen choices when we talk about paratha. If you are looking for lighter options then make a dough methi, mint leaves, aata, salt and red chilli powder. Rest it for 15 minutes and make the parathas with pure ghee. Right amount of pure ghee helps in controlling heart diseases and purifies blood.

Banana-Sattu Smoothie

In a rush? No worries, we have your breakfast sorted. Take one banana, 5 tablespoons of sattu, berries if you want and blend them all together. For extra sweetness, you can add a teaspoon of honey.

Bread Omelette

This is the favorite breakfast of almost everyone. Beat two eggs with salt, black pepper, red chilli powder, green chillies, chopped onions and spring onions and spread it as you make omelettes. Then put two bread slices over it and let it cook. Flip and serve!

Palak Dal

Dal is considered as a side curry and is generally had for lunch and dinner. But it’s the easiest and healthiest when you have a bowl for breakfast. Clean and chop some fresh palak. Take some arhar dal in a pressure cooker and boil it with palak leaves, green chillies, a teaspoon of raw mustard oil and salt.

To improve metabolism in winters, drink overnight soaked Tulsi water with an empty stomach in the morning. Drinking kadha, herbal teas during this season improves immunity.
