Event Management Association of Odisha To Be A Booster Shot For The Events Industry

Events are the biggest revenue generators of the hospitality and tourism industry and the launch of the Event Management Association Of Odisha (EMAO) on Wednesday aims to provide a booster shot to the crippled event management industry in the state. The EMAO is a collaboration with the Event and Entertainment Management Association, India (EEMA ). The launch of EMAO took place at the Mayfair Convention on Wednesday evening. The association aims to improve the quality of event production as well as be a booster for the growth of the event management agencies of the state.

Two technical sessions were held in which Arun Bothra, CMD, OSRTC  and Sachin Ramachandra Jadav, Director, Tourism Department of Odisha participated as panelists. The panelists shared some enriching experiences on leadership, management, coordination and development with the representatives of EMAO.

Along with President of EEMA Roshan Abbas, who gave some amazing insights about the event and entertainment industry; other dignitaries like Executive Vice President (EEMA) Samit Garg; President (EMAO) Satyabrat Sanu Ratho; Chairman HRAO & IATO, J.K Mohanty; Padma Shri Sudarshan Pattnaik; Padma Shri Aruna Mohanty; Senior Journalists Sandeep Mishra and Prasanna Panda; OFDC Chairman Kuna Tripathy; Additional Secretary, Government of Odisha, Ranjan Kumar Das; CEO of Kamat group of hotels, Vishal Kamat; and President, Mayfair Hotel and Resorts Manoj Gouda were also present.

Talking about EMAO, Ratho said, “During this pandemic, along with other industries, the event management sector has also gone through a very bad phase and it is time we realized that this is the opportunity for all to come together and form an association. We started this, 7 months back, this is the launch event where we are starting the registration of members and we have got 35 more members today.” 

“This is not just a forum only for event managers but also for artists, anchors, etc. Because we feel the event industry in Odisha is even bigger than the film industry. So we all need to collaborate to do better in the future. We are planning to create a great comeback.” he concluded.
