Dahibara Aludum Is Turu Lob

Dahibara Aludum Is Turu Lob

Dahibara Aludum is turu lob (true love) for Odias, especially for the denizens of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack. For the people of Cuttack, it is a legacy dish and the way the Cuttackias make it can be very unique to the millennium city. Although there are many dahibara aludum sellers, only a few have reached cult status and Raghu’s name stands out.

Raghu doesn’t wait for people to come, rather people wait for his arrival every morning. The original Dahibara Aludum was basic and it never had any fancy toppings and was eaten with toothpicks. Today one can spot a dahibara aludum vendor at every street corner of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack and it has become one of the staple street foods of Odisha.

Sweta Mohanty, an engineering student shared her love for dahibara aludum and said, “This is my go to street food. I absolutely love it. I have it with my friends almost everyday near my college. I missed it badly during the lockdown so I prepared it at home with my family. The dahi paani at the end is just too good, can’t love it enough.”

Dahibara aludum has become the pride of Odisha and it is a must try for anyone who visits the state. My City Links celebrates Dahibara Aludum Dibasa and invites you to join for a mouthful of the scrumptious delicacy with these beautiful pictures of this amazing and unique dish.
