Crowdsourced Music Video ‘Woh Bhi Kya Din The Yaar’ Binds Friends Together

Crowdsourced videos are a relatively new concept in India.  A new music video on the theme of friendship by BnR Films called ‘Woh Bhi Kya Din The Yaar’ is an independently-created crowdsourced music video featuring ten thousand one hundred nineteen real-life friends’ crowdsourced photographs.

The video has been produced by Rudra Sankar Patnaik, Arpita Devta, Jyoti Prakash Das, Biswanath Rath and Bankim Patel. Bankim is also the singer and composer of the song. According to him, the song is about friendship and those golden days of childhood.

“I still remember, while composing this song in November 2019, the only thing which was running on my mind was that this has to be something which everyone can relate to. I am really glad that this song has been able to say what I wanted to,” said Bankim.

Talking about the making of the song he shared about the challenges faced in lockdown. “The lyricist Dimple Ahirwar belongs to Madhya Pradesh. The music producer and Sound engineer Vishal Iyer and our director Biswanath Rath are from Pune and our editor Prem Raja is from Chennai. So, the present unfavourable circumstances gave us an opportunity to unlock our potential to create something even more beautiful that binds emotions and memories of more than ten thousand people across the globe. We are really glad that we could bind everyone together through music.”

The audio of this song will be soon available on all the music apps like Gaana, JIO Saavn, Hungama, Spotify, Wynk Music and Apple Music.

Director of the music video and CEO of BnR films Biswanath Rath says, “We express our heartfelt thanks to all our fans, friends for their active participation. A total of 10,119 people have shared their photos who are featured in this video, which in itself is a unique milestone.”

The theme, lyrics, music, and the entire arrangement of ‘Woh Bhi Kya Din The Yaar’ inspired me to convey the essence of friendship to our audience,” concludes Biswanath.
