Art Of Giving Observes 9th Foundation Day 

At a special event organised in the capital city on Tuesday, ‘Art of Giving’, the social service organisation celebrated its 9th foundation day. Brainchild of Dr Achyuta Samanta, the founder of KIIT and KISS, the philanthropic organisation was established on 17 May 2013. The theme this year is ‘Hope, Happiness and Harmony’. 

While the Governor of Odisha, Prof. Ganeshi Lal joined as the Chief Guest, the Editor of the Lok Sevak Mandal, Odisha Branch, Niranjan Rath joined as the keynote speaker. Adding to it, Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder and President of Unit 1 Shri Ram Mandir Baba Ram Narayan Das, Editor of Sivananda Centenary Boys’ High school Swami Siva Chidananda Saraswathi joined as the Chief Guest on the occasion.

Notably, the event honoured five people who have made outstanding contributions to the field of social work through the ‘Art of Giving’ idea. They are young environmentalist Subhransu Satpathy, lady mortician Riturani Sasma, Sabai Craft Trainer Usharani Naik, Defence Trainer Silu Nayak and Asha Karmi Babita Natha.

Addressing the occasion and appreciating the effort of the organisation Prof Lal said, “‘Art of Giving’ is in fact art of being and becoming. This noble cause of Dr. Samanta transcends all barriers and touches every soul in the society irrespective of caste, creed or religion.”

Completing 9 years successfully, Dr. Samanta said, “I am glad to announce that ‘Art of Giving’ has now transformed into a people’s movement. Millions of people across the world are now engaged in this noble initiative. The initiative has inspired people to share happiness, fun, friendship, and a helping nature towards others.”

“15 places in Bangladesh had observed the day while 30 more events were organised in Delhi. Our members have planted trees on this occasion on the outskirts of Cuttack. The United Nations will be proposed to announce May 17 as the Art of Giving Day,” he signed off.
