Anu Choudhury’s Hindi Film ‘Nirvana 13’ Released On MX Player

Ollywood diva Anu Choudhury’s first Hindi film ‘Nirvana 13’ has released today on ‘MX Player’. Story and Direction by Jitin Rawat, popular Marathi film actor Sandeep Kulkarni has been cast opposite Anu in this film. Made in the year 2011, ‘Nirvana 13’ is a story about a patient’s cry for relief from agony and a woman who is silently wishing for the same. The two have a conversation about their struggles with morality and helplessness and their constant quest for a way out. This provokes different perspectives of the pragmatic and spiritual aspects of life and death. The ultimate outburst of questions on morality and helplessness is at the crux of this psychological drama.

Excited about her first Hindi film, Anu told My City Links, “The subject is interesting, mature and it’s made for a mature audience. The character I have played in this is very strong and I was in doubt whether I can justify it or not as I have not done anything like this before. We have had multiple workshops before going to the shooting floor, and that’s when I gathered some courage in me and felt like yes I can do this. Both my co-actor Sandeep and director Jatin are brilliant, so I have learned a lot during the workshops with them. As the story is set in the night, we were shooting it during the night only. I remember during shooting, in real life our nights have become days and days have become nights.”

“Every line, posture, frame, poster and action reflects something. So those who are questioning about the poster, I request them to watch the film. Then only they can figure out the reason behind it. The film has been made targeting an intellectual audience and for festival purposes from the very beginning. So we waited a lot for its release. It was tough but now our team is very glad that people can watch our hard work.” she added when asked about the poster and the delay in release.

Jatin has always dreamed of making thought provoking films, which can convey some message to the society. He said, “I thought of making this film, which talks about life and death. In this film we have used the backdrop of Mumbai being flooded with heavy rain. The patient in the Hospital bed can’t move, so he thinks what will he do living like this? And the Nurse Marium is not happy with her life, so she also thinks the same. 

“I am happy that till now since its release in the morning, I am getting very good reviews and more than 500 people have liked it. So our fingers are crossed, let’s hope for the best.” concluded the director, who is currently busy with the post production work of his upcoming film called ‘The Script’.
