1. Ananya Sritam Nanda
For Ananya, failures never bogged her down. Rejected in the first season of Indian Idol Junior, she made a clear cut stand for herself in its second season by graciously winning the show. A Rockstar of Sonakshi Sinha, Ananya’s epic moment was when she got to meet Narendra Modi personally once she was back from the show. Her welcome to Odisha after her legendary victory was of rejoices and pride!
2. Rituraj Mohanty
His soulful voice has the power to give goosebumps anytime. After singing around 280 songs of different genres, he made history in India’s Raw Star by winning it with all the sensation. He became an immediate favourite with the way he sang Galiyan & Maula in the show. With Ram Sampath & Himesh Reshamiya being his close mentors, Rituraj got to voice for many Bollywood movies like Bangistan, Bhootnath Returns etc.
3. Padmini & Debashish
Contrary to tradition, it was the twelve year old Padmini, and not Debashish who did all the lifts in the dancing acts. And when she gracefully lifted Riteish Deshmukh into her arms, the moment just came to a halt. All this happened in India’s Dancing Superstar where the duo finished third but didn’t fail to woo the judges and audiences by their stupendous performances.
4. Pratichee Mohapatra
Remember the cute one with cropped hair in the first ever girl band VIVA which was born in Channel V’s reality show Coke V Pop stars? That was Pratichee Mohapatra who amongst the five girls sizzled the band with her cool looks and classic voice. Not only did she release her solo album, this beautiful stunner even lended her voice for many Bollywood movies, including the latest hit Angry Indian Goddesses. Pratichee with her acting, modelling and singing skills is truly Odisha’s ace diva!
5. Prince Dance Group
This extraordinary dance troupe of 26 daily wage labourers cum dancers need no introduction. Many must not be aware of the fact that the first time things changed for the group was when they became runners up in Boogie Woogie. But their stellar way of mixing contemporary dance with mythology made them the real deservers of India’s Got Talent which they won fantastically. Their Krishna act till date is acclaimed globally.
6. Harihar Dash
With Google and YouTube being his formal trainers, one just can’t take their eyes off the jazzy way Harihar dances. First he tried out for Dance Premier League (SONY) where he made to the east zone’s final after which he was in the top 60’s in Dance India Dance. What gave Harihar the attention he deserved was when he ranked fifth in India’s got Talent. Through his success in this reality show, he was spotted for an Airtel ad shoot, probably the only Indian to be a part of Airtel TV commercial. His free styling performance at The Grand Canyon, Las Vegas was a sight to behold!
7. Rajasmita Kar
She is indeed the Rourkela stunt girl for having mastered stunt and hip-hop style of dance. Folks of Odisha went gaga when she defeated four contestants to become the Dance India Dance winner. Her expressive style made her earn the likes of judges, public and Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar as well.
