Shop-A-Flea Market Brings The Latest In Fashion For Diwali Shoppers

Bhubaneswar, October 14: For all those who are yet to decide what to wear during Diwali, and are not sure where to find the latest trends in fashion; the ongoing ‘Shop-A-Flea’, a first time pre-Diwali night carnival at Hotel Crown, could be one of the best shopping destinations to find designer clothes. Starting from today, it is the first-of-its-kind open-air midnight shopping, lifestyle and food carnival in the temple city that will conclude on October 15.

Designers and boutique owners from various parts of the country have exhibited their festive collection that includes designer shoes, jewelleries, bags, garments, dress materials and home decors.  

Keeping in mind the festive season and upcoming wedding season, designer Varisha has displayed special wedding and festive collections. Designer lehenga and gowns with hand embroidery work looks amazing. Talking about her collection, Varisha says, “Since this is my first visit to Odisha, I have mostly brought fabrics and items considering the climatic condition of the state. To get good designer bridal collection most people prefer to visit Kolkata, so my collection comprises a wide range of bridal wear. Apart from the wedding and festive collection, there is also a range of daily wear, suit pieces and contemporary Indian outfits.”

“Most of my collections have pastel and light colour. The 3D embroideries on the lehenga and gowns are trendy and comfortable to wear during summer season also. The prices range from Rs 1,500 to Rs 75,000,” mentioned Varisha.   

Anchit Dhawan, another designer from Kolkata, has brought in mixed collections for the festive season. He says, “Since, this is our first visit to Bhubaneswar, I am yet to understand the market and demands of the people out here. So, we brought mix collections. Although, the collections are not very heavy pieces, are suitable for Diwali evening or card party.” The price ranges from Rs 3000 to Rs 10,000. “Most of these collections are made from tussar, chanderi silk, silk georgette and designed considering the latest trend and style,” he added.

Similarly, Umang Saraogi from Kolkata has brought a wide range of collections made by various designers.

“We keep different designer clothes in our collections and we make sure that the collections are not repeated. All the designers have used a wide range of colours to make their collections unique from others and the customers will have plenty of options to choose from,” says Umang.
