India’s First Clean Beach Festival To Kick-Start In Paradip From Tomorrow

Beaches are loved by all, but not when it is filled with litter or trash. The waste products accumulated on the beach is not only an eyesore but also poses a threat for the animals and marine creatures. Hence, in order to keep the beaches tidy and sensitize people on the same, an initiative named as Clean Beach Festival has been planned, which is to be observed across the beaches of the country.

The first clean beach festival in the country will take place in Paradip beach on 28th -29th October 2016 after which it will spread to beaches all over the country. Brainchild of an Odisha based company, Prelude Novel ventures, this fest in Paradip is being conducted in association with Paradip Municipality.

Along with the backing up of local communities, several organizations and volunteer groups have also been roped in for being a part of this cleaning initiative. Not limiting it to be just a cleaning initiative, many fun filled and exciting activities have been planned to attract more people to be a part of this fest! Music concerts, Beach Sports, Sand art workshop and star gazing are few of the activities to list out, through which the organizers have planned to make the fest an entertaining one.

It will be more like a carnival on the beach, with an addition of beach clean-up, during the course of all this entertainment. This drive is being supported by the international sand artist and brand ambassador of Maharashtra’s ‘Nirmal Sagar Tat Abhiyaan’ , Padmashree Sri Sudarsan Pattnaik. That apart, the organizers are also trying to grace this occasion with the presence of other renowned dignitaries!

 

“The primary aim of this initiative is to raise awareness among all to keep the beaches tidy and litter free.  We aim to sensitize and make people aware regarding it, clubbing with pockets of entertaining activities to attract more participants and keep the folks engaged. I believe this initiative will also help in inflow of more visitors to the beaches giving a push to the tourism potential of our country” said Satyabrata Sanu Ratho, Director of Prelude Novel Ventures Pvt Limited.
