6 Things That People Of Cuttack And Bhubaneswar Are Dearly Missing Out On!

6 Things That People Of Cuttack And Bhubaneswar Are Dearly Missing Out On!

Here’s a compilation of some of the things that we are anxious to get them initiated in these twin-cities!

1) Pubs/Nightlife

After slogging throughout the day, the need to mellow out becomes very necessary. At such instances going to a pub and having a conversation along with some cocktails help a lot. While Bhubaneswar has certain pubs to choose from, Cuttack somewhere lags behind, and the few clubs that are present doesn’t seem very appropriate. Moreover the major drawback remains, that they all get closed before midnight, making for a pretty tame night-out of the twin-cities.night-clubPic Courtesy: fablefeed

2) Live Concert

Tickets sold out! While this is mostly a sign to be seen in many cities & metros too, but unfortunately, Cuttack and Bhubaneswar rarely experience such occasions. Concerts are only organized a few times of the year just during fests of popular colleges like IIT Bhubaneswar, KIIT, XIMB etc. And although these cities have the young crowd and great places like Barabati Stadium, Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium, Ravindra Mandap and Utkal Mandap to organise shows, still there is no such concert being talked of!live-concertsPic Courtesy: rebrn

3) Multiplex

With passionate movie buffs in the city, there is a lack of proper multiplexes to cater to people’s demands. Single screen theatres are present no doubt but the absence of PVR, IMAX, Cinepolis, etc. is somewhat felt. Bhubaneswar is lucky to have INOX but Cuttack is only planning to have one until now. Due to these shortcomings, some flicks do not even find a release in the cities. Moreover, the theatres present lack the screening of multi-lingual movies and sometimes dubbing mostly spoils the originality of them!pvr-cinemasPic Courtesy: pvrcinemas

4) Adventure Sports

Adventure sports like paragliding, river rafting, bungee jumping, etc. are very popular among youngsters but unfortunately the people of the twin cities are not lucky enough to enjoy such privileges. Although there are many cliffs and rivers in the vicinity but no utilization is made towards turning them into sporting points. Though it’s good these sites are popularized as ideal picnic spots, but some of them can even be beautifully modified to provide thrilling sporting experiences. This will not only increase the influx of visitors but will even boost up the state’s tourism.river-raftingPic Courtesy: adventurefanatic

5) Amusement Parks

The thought of having an exciting time on the rides can truly delight one and all. But the twin-cities are in the desire of huge amusement parks. We wish parks like Adlabs Imagica, Wonderla, Essel World, etc. get inaugurated in the twin-cities, or anywhere in Odisha! While Nicco Park, Bhubaneswar is somewhat in a piteous condition with half the rides under repair, the Water Park in Phulnakhara is also not as promising as people expected it to be. Moreover, these parks don’t even have large number of rides to choose from.

6) Popular food franchises

People of the twin cities love food! Be it the roadside Aloo-dum Dahibara or the pizza at Domino’s or burger at KFC, every eatery enjoys the attention of the natives here. But the noted food franchises like Starbucks, Burger King, Jamie Oliver, McDonald’s, etc. are yet to make an appearance in the twin-cities, or anywhere in Odisha for that matter.starbucks-indiaPic Courtesy: Youtube

Although we are aware they cannot be carried out in a very short span of time, but we are still hopeful to be availed with such recreational facilities in future, which we are now missing out on!
